Comments: G'day Mark. Hope you got home from Bali OK ? I haven't been there since '79, in fact I met my present wife (#2) there. Is that good enough reason not to go back ? My younger sister is off to Houston for 3 week's at the start of October, for the birth of her 2nd grandchild. Her daughter married a USN guy in Hawaii, but now works in TX. We must get ourselves over there ourselves some time. Are you kiddin' me when you say there'll be so many in Washington for Veteran's Day this year ? I had no idea it'd be that big. Take care mate. Al (ex-4RAR SVN '68-'69)
Comments: G'day back Allan. Or as we say in Texas "HOWDY YA'LL." I will try and make the 30th. I did go to the 25th anniversary and it was a blast. How do yiou say it down under, " like a lizard drinkin.' " I'm guessing about 250,000 Veterans and family. I ran into a guy from Arizona who ran into 2 ARVN he knew back in '69. There should be a big parade also. Be warned, it might be a bit chilly so bring something warm to wear. Just can't tell anymore. I'm up on Bali now, ever been? Not to far from Australia. I have 21 hours of flying to do tomorrow back to Texas. Hey...I tried to keep up with an Australian Sgt Major and I believe Warrant Officer back in '71 at the bar. They were singing old drinking songs I think. Boy...was that the wrong thing to do. I was 21 and not that well seasoned yet. I didn't get up the next morning saying "no worries mate." Actually, I don't think I got up at all, ha ha.

Comments: In b troop,11th Cal, 1969,70,&71. Tank driver. Drove a helicopter on occasion. For the past 20+ years, I have imported products from Vietnam for the furniture industry, and travel there frequently. Did not want to go there, at first, but at peace with it, now. It has actually had somewhat of a healing effect to go back. Life is a journey, and sometimes,a round trip. God bless you, larry ward
