Allan....G'Day....Sounds like a great time. I don't know if the Fall foliage will still be blooming, but a great drive down the Blue Ridge Parkway anyway if if fits the schedule. And alot to see around the Newport News area, but farther south than Fredricksburg. And Yorktown is where we sent the British packing the first go around. I know what you mean about those loooooong flights. I flew on that new Airbus 380 and thought it would be alot more roomier. Wrong! I was in the cheap seats and they pack 'em in. But do think all the airlines I've flown to your part of the world try their best to ease the pain, Qantas, Air New Zealand, Malaysian, Singapore, and Cathay Pacific. I island hopped on Air New Zealand once, Brisbane to Aukland....Fiji, Raratonga, and a stop in Tahiti for a week on Bora Bora. My problem is I can't sleep worth a darn on a plane...15 hours or not.

Hey Larry Ward - I remember you. I drove B-11 for Raymond Sons and Dave Fuller after Sons went home. I then was a loader on B-19 (Jerry Utterback's Sheridan) after a tanker slot finally opened up. I was the guy who was always taking pictures. If you find yourself bored out of your skull and in need of something to do you can view a 10-minute video of my pictures here.

HOWDY ALLAN: WOW, A TEXAS CONNECTION! NO WORRIES ABOUT
BALI, I'LL GO BACK FOR YOU, HA HA. I THINK I COULD LIVE OVER THERE WITH NO SWEAT. I'M ALSO STILL LOOKING AT
GOING BACK TO AUSTRALIA, NAMELY HERON ISLAND OUT ON THE
REEF. I'M JUST GUESSING THERE WILL BE THAT MANY IN DC
COME THE 30TH ANNIVERSARY. I'VE BEEN TO A NUMBER OF
GET TOGETHERS UP WHERE OVER THE YEARS AND A 100,000
MINIMUM. I DON'T KNOW WHAT YOUR PLANS ARE, BUT KEEP
IN MIND IT DOES GET A BIT CROWDED IN WASHINGTON. PARKING CAN BE AT A PREMIUM. IF YOU'RE STAYING DOWNTOWN, NO SWEAT. IF YOU'LL COMMUTE BY RENTAL CAR, ARRIVE EARLY. THEY DO HAVE A RAIL SYSTEM WHERE YOU CAN PARK AND TAKE THE TRAIN IN. THERE'S ONE LINE ALONG RTE 66 ON THE WEST SIDE. THINGS SHOULD BE COOLED OFF HERE BY NEXT WEEK, IN THE 80's. TALK TO YOU LATER MATE!
