Comments: Hey Barb. Hows life on the other side of the world? I tried to get to you Sunday. I wanted to gloat over our last 5 weeks, temp hadn't been below 70 degrees until Sun. night. When it hits 65 normally, I ain't coming out again till April, but only if it stays above 65. Anyway, it was 49 degrees 3 nights in a row. And, not only the temp betray me, I figured out to catch pneumonia when I was NOT chasing it. (my grandmother would always tell us we shouldn't be running after bad stuff, that's why we caught it and got sick). The funniest part was she'd stand on the front porch and would holler at us that we weren't fast enough and we might catch something else we weren't looking for. Don't know how she did it, but by the time we were exhausted and came back in, there was always fresh baked cookies, candy,,cakes, pies, and the best cinimon raisin bread, fresh from the oven. Best in Va. and WV. Never found any that could beat it. Fun days. Sorry, having a pity party day. My youngest son, Jon moved out to Missouri Monday, so I'm being reflective today. He's never been more than 75 miles from me. Well, he has to grow up and become the man he is supposed to be, and you can't do that with Mom always running to "fix" it. But it is a good thing for him. And will be for me too, just not for a couple weeks, and then I'll be back on the saddle again, just the same old prankster, but without anyone to play jokes on 'cept Rick. His life will ajust to me sewing his pant legs shut, hiding things you just can't do without in the real world..ie, credit cards, toothbrush, one shoe ends up in the chandleer or shaving cream somehow freezes. We must have a "hoot de jour" everyday. Makes life so much more interesting, don't you think? I just tell Rick we have pixies and gremlins in the back yard and they only come out after he gets to sleep. I don't really know why, but it sure makes him look funny while he's looking. Sorry, so long, just a bit lonely today. Anyway give me a call. Sarah Belcher

Comments: Hi Ladies I need you help. My women in service group here in Tomah have started to collect expired or expiring coupons . We will be collecting them for at least the next year. I know many of us use coupons and have so many left over at the end of the month that we haven't used. Well if you could send them to me it would greatly be appreciated. We collect them (no specified store ones. Example: Walgreens, K Mart, Walmart and etc) to be sent to military families overseas. They are authorized to use expired ones up to six (6) months old. So starting now if you have any dated no earlier than October please send them to me. Barb Moreno 24284 Endeaver Ave Tomah, WI 54660
Thanks. Barb

Comments: Hey Barb, Tell you what! The world just keeps on turning and turning! I am going to have 2 more grandkids in 2012!!! And thanks for the wellwishers and friends to chat with. Anyway, I enlisted in the very last class of the Women's Army Corps on November 18,1976. I was very proud and honored that I was one of those chosen to raise and lower the Garrison Flag at Ft. McClellan, Al.,as we were forever changed to The Regular Army, a right many women fought for and finally acheived. I was a 55B (Ammunition Storage and Operations Specialist)and the Unit Armorer for the U.S.A. Marksmanship Training Unit #1, Fort Meade, Md. I had a lot of jobs, met hundreds of other soldiers, until I got out in 1981. There has never been anything else that I have done in my life that has always made me know I was a part of something touched by the Grace of God, and honored by all our countrymen for hundreds of years, and will continue to do so till the end of time. Talk to everyone later!! Sarah
Admin reply: Two more grandbabies - how wonderful!!!! I guess now we know why folks always say " If I had know how much fun grandkids were - I would have had them first" meant.
I am so proud to know you and all the other vets. We were called and we answered that call with pride and fearlessness. I am sure we all would have loved to just go on to college and jobs but saw that our country needed us for whatever reason. I loved my time in service and would not trade that time for anything. There are times when I think that maybe I still would enjoy it. I am very thankful to have been able to serve as it not only brought me pride of my country but also led me to meet the most wonderful, incrediable, loving man I could ever hope to know.
I am counting the days until we go to Florida. Already this winter I have a great need for sunshine and warmth. (can you tell I'm FREEZING>>??)
Well gotta run Bob wants to go to Gooddwill and then to the movies. Hmm wonder what's playing? Have a wonderful Thanksgiving and don't eat too much turkey .
