Admin reply: Basiclly want to know how many packages you sent out, how many people participated and your overall opinion of how the program worked. Should it be done again? and if so why and any improvement that could be made

Not now cause you are going "crazy" getting the reunion taken care of, but I think there is a way to appeal the decision on your Medicare Part B, in spite of "if you go off it you can't get back on for 3 yrs". There are attorneys who specialize in Medicare, and some will agree to not get paid until you get your claim settled. It could be possible the VA has attorneys who can advise you re: Tri Care. Good Luck!
(My brother was an attorney with Army JAG before he retired a few years ago.)

If we make the reunion (should know by 7 p.m. CDT), and if boat cruise tickets are still available (1 for me & probably 1 for Jackie) would like. Don't know how to get money to you any faster than mailing a check. Jackie's SS check deposited today, mine a week from today. If you have a Wal Mart store,there is some way to send a ?Wal gram? but I would need the store #, probably the Wal Mart phone #, and possibly address (at least street name). The money is available about 15 minutes after being sent. Have sent money to daughter that way before.

If we make the reunion, I would be willing to help in the booth for an hour or two, but it looks like we may have to cancel due to financial considerations. We have one "sick" car $1200, if nothing else goes wrong, & house A/C died.
Never been before so don't have a clue what's what, or what's when and have misplaced the Blackhorse publication with schedule on page ?.
I USUALLY do not use e-mail at all, but if you could e-mail me the trooper's (& ladies) schedules it would help me decide whether we can come for at least part of the reunion. I will do the registration using M/C or Discover tomorrow if we decide to come.
My trooper is Jackie Hancock, E troop (I think it's 2/11) who served in 1968 for about 8 months & was airlifted out in the colonel's heli & given a Purple Heart on the spot, (his 2nd); he recuperated in hospital for months & finished out tour of duty @ Ft. Leonardwood, MO teaching rifle dismantling & assembling. His ?? got ambushed when it threw a track. The colonel's heli airlifted him cause he was one of the last to go since he was less seriously wounded and the med choppers were in use.
Do you know of less expensive places to stay -- even an hour's drive would not be bad, but I realize some motels may still be housing Joplin's tornado victims? We do have a reservation which could be cancelled up to Sun before reunion.

Barb and I are looking for some ladies to help with the ladies booth at the St. Louis reunion to help hawk our wares. We have two ladies who have volunteered but need more to help cover all the hours so everyone also gets some time to enjoy the reunion.

Hello Ladies,
Finally a little bit of time for me to catch up on what I want to do,
First I want to tell you that at our meeting on Friday this year that we will be putting together a Blackhorse Ladies Committee. Reason: so that more of you will become involved in our group operations. The positions I will be looking for volunteers (elected if more than one volunteer)will be:
fund raising co-chair (talking to one lady soon)

committee members (3) to assist in fund raising decisions

recorder - to take notes during ALL meetings

honor guard -

Ladies,
I don't know how many of you know Pat Smothermon, she is te girl friend of 'Big' Jim Holt who was a life member of the BLACKHORSE.

At 830 this morning, Big Jim passed on to Fiddlers Green. Pat was with him until the end. We will always remember Jim for his booming beautiful voice at the reunions.

Please keep Pat in your prayers at this difficult time. I have sent her a card from the group but if any of you wish to send her one on your own, her address is:
