Comments: I am trying to contact anyone from the 11th Cav who came to Loc Ninh to assist the 1st Div., 1/28th, CO. A in a major battle on September 9th - 12th, 1968. This is the battle in which Gen. Ware was killed in a helicopter crash. I signed orders for several 11th Cav men to receive the CIB (I was the Company Commander, Defiant Alpha 6)for their assistance at Loc Ninh. If anyone who fits this description is attending the reunion in St. Louis this year I would enjoy spending some time with them.
Comments: Ed, well I have been a life member for years, and until today, I just have never taken the time to use the 11th's web-site. I have been awol from the 11th Cav 40 years next month. So was surprized to see that someone would still like to get in touch with me. Anyway I hope to hear from you soon, and now will check my e-mails more often. Wes C. Burk.

Comments: On February 23, 1968 or there abouts my unit the 2/12th, 25th ID and the 11th CAV were doing a sweep of a village not far from Cu Chi. You guys were a blocking force on the other side of a village. We were sweeping across a rice paddy towards the village and about half way across the VC opened up on us from the tree line in front of the village. your guys came to our rescue since we were pinned down. We set up behind your tracks. I was on the M-60 and had set up behind one of them. When the track moved, the guy put it in reverse by mistake and ran over my head and shoulder before he realized what had happened. I had 13 days left in country when this incident happened and ended up going to Japan and then stateside. I would like to find this guy if possible, and thought by posting this info, someone in your organization from that time frame may be the guy or knew about this incident. I am OK. But your guy doesn't know that.
