Comments: Hello all,
just wanted you to know I sent out another Angel Box. This one is headed to the collection center in California.
They seperate what is in the box and seperate its' contents, repackage everything the way they need to along with every other box and then send to where they feel the contents are needed the most at that time. There is no way they can tell us what goes where, but they have been doing this a long time and know what to do. Thank God for those volunteers. It feels really good to do something positive and make sure these women know they are not overlooked or forgotten here at home. Well, anyway I'll keeping checking our corner to catch up on anything I need to do, or check out any news. Sarah

Comments: Hey Kathy, I'm back in the U.S. and I want to go back. It was 86 degrees when we got on the plane in St. Maarten and 46 when we got to Norfolk. Yuck, I hate cold weather. Oh well, what can you do. Moving farther south is the only option and I'd die before I moved that far away from my family. Mostly my Dad, he's going to be 80 in a few months and he isn't real healthy. So I stay close by. I have already collected some things for the chest. I have a letter from the Daughters of the Revolution that began in Va., the funniest thing is I have a purple ostrich feather. The reason for this is my Great...uncle was General J.E.B. Stuart, one of General Lees' finest warriors. He always wore a purple ostrich feather in his hat all the time, even in battle where he stood out among his troops, a plus for the North. So you can see where my crazy behavior comes from. Plus I just plain love making people laugh. Maybe a character flaw, maybe not. Well, I'll stop rambling now. Just call or email me if you need anything. Sarah Belcher

Comments: Hello - In reference to Sarah's comments about Barb's resignation, the officers of the Women's Group are planning a reorganizational meeting at the Las Vegas Blackhorse reunion.
We feel it is important to keep the group going if that is what our women's membership desire.
The Women's Group is an important part of our reunions and we hope everyone feels the same way.
Barb is aware of the plans to not let her hard work and efforts, and that of the previous coordinator, end.
Watch the first issue of the Thunder Run in 2014 for updates. I can also be contacted for information at kathyz.tandberg@yahoo.com

Comments: Well, I just read Barbs' message and I was stunned as all get out. As sad as I am at her leaving, we have to figure out what to do now. I do not want us to fall apart. We are as strong and faithful as our men and we will recover somehow. I don't know what the chain of command was, so I don't know who to talk to to get us up and running or how to help. Now that my life has calmed down to just a thunderstorm, I'll help as much as needed and do what ever is needed. It will be hard, but we can do it, so someone call me or whatever and let's get started. We have to do something. My phone is (757)228-0481. Someone knows the first step, so step up!! Sarah

Comments: Hello Barb, sorry took so long to get back to you but I agree we need to talk. Rick and I are going to be there on the 10th so we will have plenty of time then, still need to get all these creative juices going. Only 10 days left! I can't wait. Anyway I will call you sometime tomorrow. Sarah Belcher
My dad, Frank Gowrie, served with the 11th Cav form 1966-1968 (LRRP, Air Cav, 919th). He passed away last year from cancer. I am running with The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society in his memory and in memory of all the Vietnam Veterans who came home from war to suffer from blood cancers. Please take a moment to check out my page. Any support would be greatly appreciated - every dollar counts!!
