Great website! I am looking for anyone who might remember my father Gary Harburn of Michigan. I believe he was with 2nd squadron in Vietnam 70-71. He passed away of a heart attack a few years ago and it would be nice to hear some stories from his army days.

I have been the Army (infantry) since 2000 but him and I never really swapped that many combat stories.

Please feel free to email me at michael.davis97@us.army.mil or call my cell at (407)435-7509. Thanks

November 21,1966. A convoy lead by 1st Lieutenant Neil Keltner leaves Long Bien on highway 1 to Long Giao and the Blackhorse base camp in Xuan Loc. Half way there, near Ap Hung Nghia, highway 1 drops sharply to a stream bed, where the 274th Viet Cong Regiment launched their attack from the high grass & jungle. The ambush that day took the lives of Russell L Halley, Jimmy L Rhodes, Harry Lee Powers and Ray E Johnson.,But it did not take their memory, or those of the brave men who served that day!
My family and I know & remember that experience today because Bill Waller, C-Troop, 1966-67 taught us never to forget.
