Comments: looking for the guys i dusted off from a u shaped buncker complex ambush east of trang bang north of the hiway back in 71 all the tracks were knocked out and the fighting was hellish many causulties they called in air and arty on there own position. we had a terrible time getting everyone out, it took almost 2 days. one sargeant who was the ranking man left refused evacuation, although critically wounded until all others were gone. he stayed on the radio calmly directing arty and air strikes on his own position and guiding our dustoff aircraft in to get his people out. to this day i dont know his name but he clearly deserves a cmh! if you can help i would surely appreciate it. sincerely david johnson dustoff 150

Comments: Please everyone who got to the Cav Jul67 or so and was assigned to the HHT 3/11 check and see if I am on your orders or any which you may have. For some reason my records from 61 to 73 are missing and VA demands a "white paper "copy of assignment orders. I got there around 12 July 67 and then was assigned to K Troop about Nov67 Made the mad dash to widows Village Tet 68 and then later was infused to the 9th Inf Div. In Dong Tam. Even my medical records are missing. Believe me after 20 years of looking and archivists NPRC what a joke I am exhausted. I won't last much longer and want to get this cleared up. Looks like I disappeared for a year. After over 26 years service that is a real slap in the face. Allons Brothers. PS. Forgot Cpt then and retired Major General now Bill Boice sent me a buddy clairification type note and the VA won't accept it. Says they won't accept one from Westmoreland himself. Thanks and happy 4th Errol R Brumm 1SGT USA Ret. novaisme77@aol.com
