I share the saddened hearts of all Blackhorse troopers who served under General (then Colonel) Donn Starry in Vietnam. I was one of the fortunate who had that privilege. He was a courageous combat leader and set a wonderful example as a commander.

May the Lord grant him calm seas and a gentle wind at his back as he begins his eternal journey.

Rest in Peace, Sir, knowing that your life was an example to all with whom you came in contact. We will meet again at Fiddlers Green.

St. Louis was my first reunion but it certainly will not be my last. It was great to see John Thompson, Frezell Cross, Q. Stephens and many more. The officers of this organization do any outstanding job and I am in awe of their talents.
