Comments: At Air Cav Troop reunion last week I learned Don Hosch died a few months ago. Don was a squad leader in the original Aero Rifle Platoon and was the first LRRP platoon sergeant. He was from Texas.

Comments: Served with I Troop from Oct 67 till May 68, then assigned to HHT as Col. Patton's and Maj.Paces driver. Looking for Ron Shook and three others, can't remember the names. There track was hit on a frontal assault by an RPGS and dropped all of them. I dismounted and pulled them back to the rear. Would like to know how they are doing today. Was put in for an accomandation but never got it. Lost track of our Lt at the time. This was May of 68, we were with the 25th inf. as well as I troop an others from the 11th ACR.

Comments: Brother and Family of Spc 4 Donald L. Martinez KIA in Long Khanh on 4/17/67 Trp L 1/11 ACR HHT would like to know if any of Black Horse Brotherhood would know of any of the events leading up to the event. The unit was sceduled to move out to our understanding and one post by Jerry Tighe said that they got the news as they were boarding about his dead. The Company Commander (Col Farley's) letter to us said that the info that he gotten was all second hand as he had just arrived himself. So at least there is a Jerry Tighe that knew him and maybe what happened. The more I read your posts here the more I understand how much you people really care about each other. It is so comforting to know that you keep alive the memory of your fallen brothers as we the families do. As long as that is the case how can we say they are truly dead. Only gone on ahead to scout the way. Just to say Thank You seems empty. Family of Donald L. Martinez

Comments: I am the new historian for American Legion David C. Chavez Post 1982 in Ansbach, Germany. I am trying to find information on SSG Chavez to write a biography for our post. No one at the post remembers why it was named after him. I would like to contact anyone that served with him. He was KIA on 15 Jan 1970 while assigned to A Troop, 1st Squadron, 11th Cavalry Regiment. I believe he may have been stationed in Ansbach. Does any have any information on him?

Comments: The song acknowledged to the late Mr. Holt that plays at the reunions is _500 Miles_ originally sung by the Journeymen in 1961. There have been many lyrics added to this original railroad lament.
